Summer Fun

High School buddies, we are all due one week apart, I am first Oct 9 then Kaycee and then AndraBen's 2nd Birthday, his truck cake that started to sink by the time we ate it, but it was still pretty cute and Ben thought it was great.
We headed up to Park City for a couple of days. It was a great little get-a-way. We even got to take Ben on the Alpine slide
We went to the Preston Rodeo, Ben's favorite part was riding this car. When it stopped he laid on the grass and bawled, our first temper tantrum! Pretty funny

Much needed update! CHANGES!

Well here is the reason I have been a blog slacker, WE MOVED! It all happened pretty quick. We put our house up on the MLS wednesday night and had a full price offer Friday. I was sad to leave our old house because we literally put our heart and soul into fixing it up but Danny and I had been looking at this house for months before we even thought about selling our house. Luckily the people had to sell it so here we are. The best part is the kids wont have to share a bedroom and all we've had to do it paint. Also I've got lots of yard work so don't look to closely - that is still to come.
Danny stole my awesome office. In the mist of moving Danny had a company contact him and wanted him to come work for them. It is based out of Sweden with US offices in Oregon so he works from home when he is home - he travels A LOT! This should be fun when baby number 2 arrives, well see how I manage. Anyways we figured while we were making changes we would just keep going.

Ben's room, the stripes took me quite some time but I think they turned out cute and something fun and different for a kids bedroom. I was able to reuse the roman shade I made for his old room - it was a swear word project, I had to make it bigger and roman shades on a window that size, well they shouldn't be done, that's all I'll say about that.
Our bedroom, not a great picture but we love having an attached bathroom and a big closet.
One of the best parts of the new house is the amazing view in our back yard. When we showed my dad the house all he had to say was you can see the "A" I'm sold!
Ben moved into a big boy bed this month. He has done great, our only problem is we can't get him to go to bed at night because he says up looking at books.
Speaking of changes, I sure I didn't look like that a year ago! This was actually on the 4th so I'm sure I'm bigger now. As my nephew Drew says to me each time he sees me "getting bigger"

Baby Animal Day- I thought Ben would love the animals the way he attacks Sammy all day but he was a little bit nervous of all the animals.

My parents brought up Grandma Kenya, she is literally on her last leg. She can't really walk anymore and will probably pass away this week. It's hard to imagine her gone. We've had her for 12 years.

Ben's going to be a Big Brother! It was quite a surprise for us but we're really excited, especially for the 2nd trimester (which starts in a week) so that I can start feeling better! I am due on my birthday, October, 10th. It's already been an interesting pregnancy so far so were hopping for less stress and less sickness in April!

Winter Overload

We got another new niece in February- Allyson Kathleen Egan! We love her, Ben thinks she is pretty cool, the best part about her is she lives about a mile away so we get to see her all the time but I still get to sleep through the night!
Our family keeps growing! We got 2 new nieces on my side and now we are getting 2 new nephews on Danny's side! Lots of fun with cousins

Winter Get-a-way

Before this trip the longest I had ever left Ben was for about 4 hours. I couldn't even get excited for the trip because it made me sick to think about leaving Ben. Well thank goodness to my AMAZING sister Hayley who took Ben for almost the whole time. This was right before we left. I went and put him to bed at Danny's parents and cried. I did pretty good until about Thursday of the trip.

Roatan, Honduras - this was such a beautiful place. This was probably my favorite stop of the trip.

A little snorkeling, it was great and right off the beach

Cave Tubing in Belize. We were a little nervous when we got off the ship in Belize, it's kind of a dump. Well we took a tour about an hour outside the port up to the mountains. It was beautiful. We went through the jungle and up to a river. It took us through these amazing caves. It was a really great experience and I'm glad we got out of the port.

Cozumel was a little disappointing. We were planning on going scuba diving but when we got off the ship it was really windy and a red flag day so they canceled all the dive trips. It was a little heart breaking to look at that turquoise water and not get in. We ended up having a nice relaxing day at the beach sitting in hammocks. I guess we will just have to go back. (Last time we went to Cozumel I had just found out I was pregnant so I couldn't dive, I think I'm cursed to not dive here)
Enjoying a great dinner,Danny hated the dress up nights. He kept saying don't they know I'm on vacation!
Hard to say good bye to that, but I had a pretty cute little kid waiting for me at home!

ELDER JT is home!

Elder JT is home! I made shirts for all the kids, so when he came down the stairs they were all standing there. Little Ella has a "T" on but she was sleeping. Sarah's family made it by about 30 seconds. We had to leave Logan at 5 am to get down in time. The roads were the worst I have have seen them, but we were all there!
The whole family! What a wonderful day!
I wish I had a picture of my mom when Jeffrey started coming down the stairs, (I have it on the video camera) she went nuts, she stared screaming and jumping up and down.

It didn't take long for all the kids to recruit Jeffrey into help them build their legos. He's the best Uncle ever. We are already feeling the blessing of having him back home again. He has such an incredible spirit. I can't believe want an amazing kid he is. Being around him makes me want to try harder and make some real New Year's resolutions to really improve my spiritual self.I can't wait for him to move back up to Logan next week to start school. I'm excited to have a good babysitter for Ben! When Jeffrey meet Ben he said, it felt like he already knew him and forgot that he hadn't actually ever seen him. He fits right in!
Jeffrey we love you so much and are so happy that you severed an honorable mission and have set such a great example to all your nieces and nephews!

Santa really spoiled Will and Drew this year, they got a go cart! Oh wait was is Will and Drew or Josh that got spoiled, I don't know who was more excited
We went over to Hayley's for Christmas breakfast and Ben spotted Santa's left over cookies by the fire place and helped himself
A BIKE! This has to be one of the best Christmas mornings I can remember. Ben was so excited to see that bike sitting there. Every time we go to the store we always have to go over to the toy department and let him ride around so we were so excited to actually have one of our own.
Gingerbread house! I think this might have been more mean than fun for Ben, he wanted to eat all the candy and I wouldn't let him. Now its sitting on the counter and he keeps trying to get it. He's like 'hey mom there is candy sitting right there and you want let me eat it'
My mom took all the grandkids and mom's on teh Polar Express up in Heber City. Ben thought it was great to go on the train and especially liked looking out the window at all the lights.
Ben wasn't a huge fan of Santa. I think it was a mixture of being exhausted and a little scared

THIS KID WILL BE HOME IN 23 HOURS AND 58 MINUTES! I can't sleep I'm so excited, so I figured I better post about it! He will come home to a new niece and a new nephew and an 8 month pregnant sister! I just hope this storm isn't to bad so that we can all make it down to the airport in time. I've made some pretty cute shirts for all the kids to be wearing to welcome him home!

A nice little winter blizzard! To bad all the snow is melting now, of course we have snow for Thanksgiving but maybe not for Christmas!

Ben really enjoyed Thanksgiving, lots of food and lots of messes! Pretty much everyone was sick on Thanksgiving in the Thompson home so we had it a day later, I wouldn't depress you all and tell you were Danny, Ben and I spent Thanksgiving!

Next post, all of my Christmas crafts, I am a crazy person, for some reason I just keep crafting away, you might ask why I don't post them now, well the Advent Calendar that I've been working on for the last month still isn't done and I keep finding more things to do!!!

Of course Danny wouldn't dress up, he's an Adams and they all hate Halloween, I am trying to change that slowly but surly!

Will and Drew LOVE Ben! They take such good care of him. Will is always making sure he is safe and Drew is making sure he's having fun! I really honestly hope they know how grateful I am for them. They are going to be the best big brothers, they find out Wednesday what they are having!!!

So my blog is broken, I can't post any pictures. If anyone knows how to fix this let me know. In the mean time, I have been telling people for about the last year I would put these recipes up on my blog but I haven't so I guess no better time then now.

Hayley's Sugar Cookies (by far the best sugar cookies I have ever eaten)
1 c butter
2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 c sour cream - combine
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp butter flavoring
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
4 1/2 c flour
sit in fridge for hour bake at 350 for 10 min
Frosting
(I just throw stuff in, so is my best guess)
1 c butter
4 c powder sugar
2 T evaporated milk
1+ tsp vanilla and almond extract

Zucchini Chowder (sounds a little different but we love it, even Danny loves it)
2 med zucchinis
1 med onion
2 TB dried parsley
1 tsp dried basil
1/3 c butter
1/3 c flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3 c water
3 chicken bouillon cubes
1 tsp lemon juice
1 can corn
1/4 c grated parm cheese
2 c grated cheddar cheese
pinch of sugar
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can evaporated mile
saute- zucchini, butter, onion, parsley & basil - add four & water - add bouillon and lemon juice mix well - bring to boil - cook and stir for 2 min - add tomatoes, milk and corm - bring to boil - reduce heat - simmmer for 5 min - add cheese just before serving

Wedding Shower Drink (I love this and it is perfect for parties)
Liter of Sprite
1 can limeade
1/2 cup "Torini" vanilla flavoring (in the mixed drinks isle)
1/2 bag of ice
throw it all together and put the ice in before serving

Spring!

First signs of Spring! I think Ben and I have gone out everyday to check on this first flower to bloom. The good news is I think I planted about 300 bulbs in the back yard so many more to come!
Then the next day I opened up the window and was looking at this - Spring in Logan
So John and Hayley called us the other night to go out with them, we were waiting for them to come and I looked out the window and a limo pulled up. John got a limo for our date night! I don't think I have laughed that hard in a long time. We love those guys!
Ben's first Easter, he thought it was great to find the eggs.
The 4 of us, yes I can count there is someone in Sarah's belly!!!! She gave us an egg on Easter with a note that said, hatching this September!
We headed up to Midway to stay at Zermott for the kids Spring Break. Ben loves to watch his cousin's, he is totally entertained by it all but the best part was swimming!
My little twins! I buzzed both of their hair this week. Everyone told me to cut Ben's hair and it would grow back faster, they better be right because I was about in tears while I was cutting it

March Madness

March started out with some "madness" for us! Thank goodness for these little boys, this was after 2 days of Ben screaming, I finally called in reinforcement! Ben stopped eating Tuesday night and pretty much screamed until Saturday, not eating, barley sleeping and making his mom a nervous wreck! After going to the doctor multiple times we think that he couldn't tolerate formula (I was just starting to quite nursing). He is doing better now but a couple of scary days.

There's a happy boy! He loves being outside.
Elo's wedding! She looked amazing, I was just sad that my little boy didn't cooperate and screamed most of the night!
We tease Bry that he isn't much bigger than Ben so we decided to swaddle him up like Ben and put him to bed!
We went up to Bear Lake to watch all the basketball games. It was lots of fun especially when the girls cleaned house in poker!
Finally we can go outside for a walk! The whole stroller ride Ben kept leaning forward trying to look at Wynter.
He's getting so big - two teeth and he is sitting on his own. He doesn't crawl yet but rolls all over the place, I will leave him on this blanket and look back and he on the wood floor.

February Update!

Ben is 6 months old (almost 7 because I am a slow blogger) I can't believe it's been half a year. We went to his 6 month check up and he is now not even in the 5% for weight, I told the doctor I promise I am trying but I think I have the world's worst eater, he would rather watch Sammy run around the house and suck on this toes!

I put these jammies on Ben and Danny told me he looked like Hugh Hefner or Santa Clause, I thought he looked cute
We got to tend Will and Drew for the weekend while Hayley and Josh were in Hawaii, I had to take a pictures of the cute little boys matching - good news all of the 4 nephews got these jackets last year so now Ben will eventually have one in every size as they get passed down!
Ben's new favorite thing is being chucked in the air (I hope this isn't damaging!). He gets so excited as Danny starts counting, 1-2-3!
Danny had to work in Ft Lauderdale for the week so Ben and I tagged along. I guess there are some perks to having a husband that travels all the time... sky miles and going with every once in a while!

Ben was great on the plane but I swear those seats are much smaller then I remember!
We made it! I think Ben was happier then all of us to be out in the fresh air with no socks on

Whale watch - it was pretty amazing to see the whales up close and personal- they are huge!

about 20 or more dolphins were swimming along with the whales, they are so much fun to watch, they are show offs! They were slipping and jumping - lots of fun
I have never seen a kid love the water more then Ben. He loved the water, we would cry to get in and then he would just kick and kick

He also loved the grass and just being able to be outside!
Thanks Nana and Popie for an amazing trip! Memories to last a life time!

Wear your SPF!

I know it is the middle of the winter and the last thing you are thinking about is sunscreen but you might be thinking about the tanning bed, so word to the wise stay far away! This past summer my sister Sarah kept telling me I had a weird spot on my back. It didn't notice it and it didn't look anything like I would expect a cancer spot to look so I kinda forgot about it. Sarah, being the good sister she, is kept pestering me about it. I finally went in before Christmas to have it looked at and he they said it was probably pre-cancer, no problem. Well a couple weeks later I got a call from the doctor and sure enough it was cancer! Any one who has ever been to a sunny vacation spot with me probably isn't to surprised by this (I burn real easy). Well I went in and got it removed. The doctor said I was very lucky to have noticed it because this kind is unusual and spreads fast! So thanks to my nurse of a sister I am cancer free for now but will be wear SPF 50 for the rest of my life!

My little bumbo boy! Danny gets so nervous when i put him in but i think he looks so cute!
my nephew Drew celebrated his 4th birthday and Big Blue got to come to the party.

Benjamin got a new cousin - even better a cousin that lives about 2 miles away - Wynter Rose Adams born Nov 27. It made for quite an exciting Thanksgiving.
The best part about my 4 month old is the little personality that is coming out - honestly what could be cuter!

We blessed Ben on Nov 1st. We had to keep putting it off to make sure everyone could be there, as you can see Ben didn't wait he just kept growing right out of his blessing outfit!

Happy Halloween! I use to make fun of my sister Hayley all the time for setting up portrait studios in her house and now I have to eat my words - cause now I do it!
Cute Madi and Halle came up from Salt Lake for some trick-or-treating! It was so much fun to see them, they both looked so stinking cute as Tinker Bell and Minnie Mouse.
Man I love this little girl, Grace Neil as Dorthy. I want to just squeeze those little cheeks!

Good Old Days!

Here we are only 4 short years ago and now we are all moms! Scary I know- poor kids!

All grown up or we at least hope so for the sack of the kids!
Chauri and me with our little guys! We had them 2 weeks to the minute apart from each other and we both came 3 1/2 weeks early! I wish that Chauri didn't live in Colorado, we could have some fun play dates!

The whole story.....
So I woke up at 2:30am Monday morning thinking I had peed my pants (I know to much info) and couldn't figure out what was going on. I wondered around for a little while but stuff kept coming, it wasn't a lot but definately something coming out of me. I was also having contractions but they weren't regular. I called the hospital at 3:30am and the nurse said if your water broke you would know it - don't come in. Luckily I had a regularly scheduled doctors appointment at 9:20 and told Danny to come with me just to make sure everything was alright. We have been planning this whole summer to go to Bear Lake this week becuase both of our families were up there so the whole way to the hospital we were making plans for Bear Lake. We got to the doctor and I did all the normal stuff. When the doctor came in I was like something is coming out of me and I have been having some irregular contractions. He was like I sure it's nothing but let me take a look. He looked and looked at us and said well it looks like you will have a baby by dinner time. I started crying and Danny was just shocked! He said I will call upstairs and go and get checked in. It was fun calling everyone to tell them we were labor. Nobody could believe it. I was dialated to a one and effaced 75% so I got on patosin at about 10:30, the contraction really started coming and I thought I was going to die so I got and epidural around 2:00. I was dialted to a 3 at 4:00 and by 5:00 they came in and told me to get ready to start pushing! I had to push for 1 1/2. I was exhausted but at 6:25 our little guy came out!

The completely shocked parents - I wish we had a picture of our faces when the doctor first told us "You will have a baby by dinner time" - this was pre horrible labor pains.
Danny almost pasted out when he came out, the cord was wrapped around his neck and I don't think Danny was prepared for all the gunk on him - so you can imagine how happy he was to finally hold his healthy boy.

It was a pretty crowded delivery room as you can see, plus Hayley who was on camera duty. We were all excited to meet him!

I think the highlight of the parade was watching my dad. He was pumped to had out balls for Wells Fargo, I think he called us about 10 times before the parade giving us updates on where he was so we wouldn't miss him!

Our cute little family! I wonder how Sammy will take it when she isn't the center of attention!
A little Memorial Day golf up at Bear Lake. The weather didn't corporate with us most of the weekend but golfing was fun.
Don't worry Paige and I are married to probably the smartest men ever! So Danny hit his ball in a pine tree, yept, not sure how but he did, so Danny and Jason get the bright idea to through his golf club up the tree to get the ball out. You can guess that the club got caught as well. So Paige and I laughed as they tried to scale the tree!
Hayley, Ashley and I got together to take Ashley out for her birthday and do some planning for our upcoming girls trip. Turns out Ashley and I think alike!
My first Mother's Day! Danny got me my favorite flowers and he is putting in a new patio for me!
So for Christmas I got TWO tickets to Wicked. My parents gave me tickets and so did Danny's parents so I got to go twice. In case you were wondering if this picture looks a lot like the one when I went with my family it does. My mother-in-law is so funny, she saw the picture and decided we all needed to wear black or pink!

Easter Weekend!

The best part about the whole weekend (I guess it was technically Monday morning) was that we found out our baby room is going to look something like this! Yept we are having a boy! I didn't want to admit it but I secretly wanted a boy the whole time. Danny and I are both so excited, now we just have to agree on a name!
We got to spend Easter Sunday with Danny's family! Madi is about 2 1/2 and quite a character, she is talking so much and has a great imagination - this was her castle and no one was allowed inside!
My dad gave all the girls Wicked tickets for Christmas. It was such a good show. I can't believe how creative people are to come up with this stuff!

At the Tree house museum with all my cute nephews and niece. I have found it is impossible to get a picture when they are all looking at me!
Up in Boise at the NCAA tournament game. The poor Aggies lost by 1 freakin point but it was still a really fun game. I went completely nuts!
A night out with some of our cute friends. After an awesome bowling match where I almost beat Danny!
Hayley and Josh got to go to Europe for a little bit and we got to tend their two boys. It was such a blast. This is bed time with Will, Sammy, Danny and Drew. Sammy thought she was having a sleepover as well. It was pretty cute, she slept right outside the door every night. I hope she will like our new little one!

Well it's official! We are pregnant! We're due September 2 - which I know real smart be big and pregnant all summer. I still can't believe I'm going to be a mom. I was just getting good at being Sammy's mom (our dog). I'm hoping the 2nd trimester brings less trips to the toilet and more energy!!!

Caribbean Cruise!

For graduation my parents gave us plane tickets so we decided to get as far away from Logan's 20 degree weather and head to Miami for a cruise.
Happy Valentines Day! We figured this was the best way to celebrate - on a cruise in the middle of the Caribbean ocean.
Cozumel, Mexico. This was out big scuba diving stop- although I couldn't go scuba diving (more on that later), so I lived vicariously through Danny.
Grand Cayman! What a cool place. It is beautiful and very exotic
Sting Ray Island! I know that water looks like a swimming pool but it is actually the ocean. I have never seen water like this before let alone swim with string rays!
Jamaica yeah man! WOW I had no idea how beautiful Jamaica is. If you are ever looking for an incredible place to vacation head here! It is like an incredible jungle with beautiful beaches!
This was in Jamaica at a place called Dunn's River Falls. It was incredible. It was a 600' water fall that you can climb up. The amazing thing is I never fell!
Our cruise port was in Miami and since our flight didn't leave until 6:00pm we decided to hit up South Beach. Let me just tell you if you ever want to feel really depressed about your body just head down that way, I've never see so many beautiful people!

On Wednesday we got to take Jeffrey down to the MTC! I can't believe he is going to be gone for 2 years. I mean seriously 2 years. This is going to be TUFFFFF! 4 days down only 726 to go!
The family - It was definitely hard to say goodbye but it sure helped that Jeffrey was so excited
She actually let him go. We thought we were going to have to drag her out of the MTC

MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope you all had a wonderful season. I can't believe it's already over

We spent Christmas with the Adam's this year. It was lots of fun and nice to not have to be driving all over the place on Christmas day

We built a snow man on Christmas day. It was huge but lots of fun! I think the best part was Dave (Danny's dad) concerned about messing up the backyard with tracks! Love him!

I forgot to put this on my post yesterday. I have been making these beaded watch bands and I am selling them this weekend at a party in Bountiful . It is at the Muir's house which is on Canyon Oaks Circle right off of 1800 South. It is right by Biz Lalli's old house. Anyways it is Saturday from 10 to 4! So I would love to see anyone there! Also I am doing another party in Logan the 3 week of December.

Well it's official - The Thompson are finally going to have a missionary after 3 girls. We all couldn't be more excited. All I can say is Jeffrey is one lucky missionary. He is going to be getting some of the best packages in the world! He is going to ...................................................................... the Tulsa, OK mission. He really is so excited and so ready to go.
Jeffrey was really nervous to read his call so my dad snook up behind him and read it. Now for those of you who know my dad just imagine him jumping around and yelling yes. Mean time we were all still wondering where he was going.
The whole Thompson family minus Brett. It quite the event. Its the only time we will open a mission call in our family!
All the grandkids love to play dress ups. The best part is most of those are my old dance costumes.

Andra's wedding lunch. It was such a fun day and I am so excited for Jordan and Andra - they make the cutest couple! Plus it is always so much fun to see old friends.
Happy 23rd Birthday me! Danny was so cute and had such a fun night planned out for me.

BOSTON & Cape Cod

So I think I was suppose to live in Boston. Maybe it will happen someday. We'll keep dreaming! We had such a good time in Boston. Danny had to work and I wasn't going to let him go without me so we kinda had a pre-birthday trip. The only down fall was I lost my blanket that I've had since birth. Only a few of you will honestly understand the magnitude of this but don't worry I am trying to get over it.

Walking around Boston - honestly I could move there tomorrow. I love that city so much. I think it is the most beautifully designed city I have ever been to. A landscape Architects paradise!

This was so cool, during a certain time of the day the tide would go out and you could walk out in the water. It was so awesome, it felt like you were out in the ocean

Julie and Hannah came up to Logan for a couple of days! It was so much fun to spend time with them - it also opened my eyes to motherhood - wow how do all you girls do it!
Will got to have a sleep over with Danny, Sammie and me. He was in heaven - we went and got a toy and treats - now he always wants to come over for a sleep over.
A little miniature golfing - turns out I am just as bad a mini golfer as I am a real golfer - darn it

Our New House!

June 1st we go the house - we spent our first night June 29th (our 2nd anniversary) it was the longest hardest month ever but we did it! Unfortunately I don't have before and afters of the exterior but don't worry I have lots of plans
We wanted a mantel and to be able to hang our TV above it so we had a concrete company come in and cut the rock out and then we had cabinets built on either side
Quite the change in the kitchen, we basically gutted the whole thing, we covered up the doorway and put new pretty much everything in!
We put in hardwood floors and made the opening into the kitchen wider
The master bedroom - it use to be two rooms but our bedroom furniture wouldn't fit so we torn the wall down
This was the old master bedroom, it is now Danny's office as you can see. This was his only request - Yankee blue wall, it was terrible to paint it took like 5 to 6 coats of paint

We turned this into the master bathroom - this was Danny's pride and joy (he did all the tile work)

The basement carpet had to be the worst thing in the whole house! Some nice Elmo red carpet and some really cute wall paper - hard to let it go!

Meet our new puppy Sammie, I saw an add for her on KSL on friday and work and called Danny and said oh crap it looks like we are getting a puppy about a month before we planned. We went and saw her at lunch time and weren't suppose to pick her up until the saturday evening but we were both like little kids on christmas we got to excited and had to pick her up friday night

GRADUATION

So Danny actually graduated last semester but he wouldn't take any pictures so I made him borrow my cousins cap and gown and pose for a couple of pictures. I think he was a little bugged with me - oh well at least we have some proof for the kids some day.
